School briefly evacuated due to irritant gas
A school in Neckarsulm (Heilbronn district) was evacuated at midday on Tuesday due to irritant gas. Shortly after the operation, the police suspected that several pupils had sprayed pepper spray or something similar in a school toilet. 22 pupils suffered minor respiratory injuries, one of them was taken to hospital. The school was evacuated at around 1 p.m. and classes were able to resume shortly afterwards, a police spokeswoman explained. Several emergency services and two patrols were deployed.
The evacuation was a result of a potential emergency situation, with irritant gas detected in the school. The incident required the deployment of several emergency services to address and manage the situation.
