Government by the people, for the people. - Scholz pledges tough measures against radical elements.

"We're committed to protecting the law and ensuring security. The police, courts, and our intelligence agencies are handling this task, and they're doing an outstanding job. However, we, as citizens, must also unite." The radicals from both the left and the right should be afraid and prepared that we'll use every means possible to fight them."

Deputy government spokesman Wolfgang Büchner shared these thoughts from Scholz in Berlin, saying, "An attack on a police officer on duty is an attack on all of us."

Sadly, the 29-year-old police officer passed away on Sunday due to injuries sustained during an attack in Mannheim. The assailant was of Afghan origin and had repeatedly stabbed the officer in the head. The motive behind the crime remains unknown. There's a protest scheduled for later in Mannheim.
