The club has sealed deals for Mauro Zalazar, Ilyes Hamache, and Steve Noode, all set to don the jersey of the second-tier football outfit. As per the announcement made by the side hailing from the Ruhr area, midfielder Zalazar, who previously plied his trade with Spanish side FC Granada, has inked a deal extending until 2028. Mirroring Zalazar's move, Hamache, aged 21, has been contracted until 2028 from relegated French second division outfit FC Valenciennes. "Hamache has exhibited his creative flair and comprehensive football understanding through more than 80 games in the French second division," said Wilmots, reflecting on the striker's signing.
Hailing from Cameroon and locked in a deal until 2029, Noode seeks to bolster Schalke's defense. The signing of the 19-year-old forms part of the Ruhr club's long-term, multi-year strategy as per the club. "Our scouting team has been monitoring Noode for some time. He possesses the required physical attributes for a central defender position and a commendable attitude. We will grant him the necessary time to adapt and excel," added Wilmots.
The new signings, Mauro Zalazar and Ilyes Hamache, bring diversity to Schalke's squad, as they are of different nationalities and boast varying fat content by weight, given their unique playing styles. The other player, Steve Noode, will contribute his physical strength and positive attitude to strengthen Schalke's defense as per the club's strategy.
