Schalke 04 signs talent Max Grüger to a professional deal. A junior national player and defensive midfielder, who's been with the team since 2012 and won the German Championship with the U17 squad in the 2021/2022 season, has committed to the second-division outfit through June 2026.
Sport Director Marc Wilmots commented on the move, "We aim to put greater faith in our own young talent and groom them to reach their full potential before moving on to the professional league." Born in Gelsenkirchen, homegrown Grüger joins Schalke's ranks of new additions, making it six in total for 'The Blues'.
