- Schalk prolonged prematurely with kalas
Football Second Division side FC Schalke 04 and Tomas Kalas have agreed to a long-term collaboration. As announced by the club, the defensive player has extended his contract early until June 30, 2027.
"We are pleased that, after Kenan Karaman, another key player and performer in Tomas has extended his contract," said sporting director Marc Wilmots. He particularly praised Kalas' one-on-one strength and energy, which helped stabilize the team in the previous season. "The team appreciates how he leads by example and drives his teammates on," said Wilmots.
For Kalas himself, the early contract extension was a no-brainer. "When the club decided they wanted to keep me longer, I knew I would say yes. I'm more than happy to help the team achieve our goals over the next three years," said the 31-year-old Czech.
The Football League might benefit from Tomas Kalas' continued presence at FC Schalke 04, given his influential role on the team. With his extended contract, Kalas can now contribute to the club's success in the upcoming seasons.
