SC Magdeburg gives GOG no chance in away win

SC Magdeburg has notched up another victory in the Handball Champions League. The Magdeburg team won 32:25 (17:13) at Danish champions GOG on Thursday. Felix Claar was Magdeburg's top scorer with seven goals. With twelve points, SCM remain within striking distance of the top two places in Group B and direct qualification for the quarter-finals.

SCM got off to a brilliant start, relying on Nikola Portner (15 saves) in goal to give them an early lead, but then failed to score for several minutes, allowing GOG to slowly find their feet. SCM's Head Coach Bennet Wiegert called a timeout (21') to call for more discipline in finishing, Magdeburg stabilized and went into the break with a four-goal lead.

The defending champions also came out of the break better and extended their lead again. The SCM was particularly focused in defense and GOG rarely found gaps in its compact 6:0 defense. Michael Damgaard scored to make it 27:17 (44') and SCM remained consistent after that.

In the Bundesliga, SC Magdeburg showed their dominance once again, securing a win against GOG with a score of 32:25. Even in their Handball Champions League match, Magdeburg's Felix Claar shone, scoring seven goals.

The victory over GOG in Denmark further strengthened SC Magdeburg's position in the Bundesliga, keeping them close to the top two spots and ensuring they remain in contention for direct qualification for the quarter-finals.
