Handball Bundesliga - SC Magdeburg extends with Lagergren until 2028
SC Magdeburg has extended the contract with Swedish national handball player Albin Lagergren until 2028. The club announced the news ahead of the game against Rhein-Neckar Löwen on Saturday. The backcourt player returned to Magdeburg from the Löwen before the season, where he had already been under contract from 2018 to 2020.
"After my return, I very quickly felt at home in the team and in the city. It was as if I had never been away," the 31-year-old was quoted as saying in a club statement from the Champions League winners. He has scored 40 goals in 15 Bundesliga games for Magdeburg since his return.
"Albin is an outstanding player and his extension is of great importance to us. Together with Omar (Ingi Magnuson), he probably forms one of the best duos at right back," said coach Bennet Wiegert.
