Circle runner - SC Magdeburg extends contract with Oscar Bergendahl
Handball Bundesliga club SC Magdeburg has extended the contract of center Oscar Bergendahl until 2026. The Elbe-based club made the announcement to great jubilation before the DHB Cup match against HSG Wetzlar. The Swedish international moved to Magdeburg in February 2023 following Magnus Saugstrup's serious injury and immediately proved to be a mainstay.
Bergendahl won the Champions League and IHF Super Globe titles with Magdeburg. "It fills me with great joy and pride to be able to continue my journey here at SC Magdeburg," the 28-year-old was quoted as saying in a club statement. Coach Bennet Wiegert spoke of Bergendahl as a "quiet leader". "His qualities and mentality fit perfectly with our philosophy and are an asset to the SCM."
