- SC Magdeburg beats HC Erlangen in the second round 32:26
Handball - Bundesliga side SC Magdeburg won their first test match. Against HC Erlangen, SCM triumphed in Halle an the Saale 32:26 (13:12). Top scorer for the Elbe city team was Philipp Weber with nine goals.
Without the Olympic players, coach Bennet Wiegert filled his squad with players from the third league. Additionally, Dutchman Alec Smit was present as a trial player.
New right wing Isak Persson did not play with the team and is expected to make his debut next Friday. Newcomers Antonio Serradilla and Tim Zechel, however, made their debut in the SCM jersey, and goalkeeper Nicola Portner returned to the goal after his suspension.
