SC Magdeburg also wins in Champions League: 35:27 against GOG

World handball champions SC Magdeburg have secured another home win in the Champions League. After an energetic performance, the team from the city on the Elbe won 35:27 (16:16) against the Danish champions GOG on Thursday evening. Magdeburg's top scorer was Michael Damgaard with seven goals. SCM remains in third place in the table.

Magdeburg started nervously, made technical mistakes and also had little grip in defense and was accordingly behind (1:3/4). After trailing by four goals (14th minute), Bennet Wiegert loudly called on his team: "Let's start fighting." His team complied, equalized for the first time at 14:14 (27') and also went into the break with an equalizer.

GOG used the advantage of the throw-in to take the lead again, but this time the visitors were not able to pull away. The SCM capitalized on a seven-meter penalty by Omar Ingi Magnusson to take the lead for the first time (21:20/39). However, the SCM did not get the game and the strong visitors under control, with the result that the game remained open. However, Magdeburg then pulled away with a 6:0 run to make it 32:26 (56') and decide the game.

SC Magdeburg's triumph in the EHF Champions League continues, as they defeated GOG with a score of 35:27. This victory at home strengthens Magdeburg's position in the league, keeping them in third place.

Magdeburg's impressive handball performance in the EHF Champions League led to a hard-earned victory against Danish champions GOG, a team they had previously tied with during the first half.
