SC Magdeburg claimed the championship trophy at the season's end. Following a 37:34 victory against HSG Wetzlar on Sunday during the Bundesliga finals, Magdeburg's mayor Simone Borris presented the cup to SCM captain Christian O'Sullivan. The team was then scheduled to honor their fans at the city hall's town square. Additionally, coach Bennet Wiegert was recognized as the "Coach of the Season" for the second time in 2022.

The season has been remarkable for Magdeburg, with championship, cup, and World Cup victories. Consequently, the celebration was highly energetic in the hall. Players Lucas Meister (circle runner), Piotr Chrapkowski (defense specialist), Janus Dadi Smarason (playmaker), and Mikael Aggefors (goalkeeper) are departing the club at season's end.

The SCM finished the league season with a flawless record, boasting a 32-2-0 performance, earning a 6-point lead over second-place Füchse Berlin. They also had the best defense and attack in the league. Next week, Magdeburg has another title opportunity at the Final Four in Cologne, where they'll attempt to defend their Champions League title from last year.
