SC Freiburg advance in Europa League thanks to Gregoritsch
Bundesliga soccer team SC Freiburg will spend the winter in the Europa League. Coach Christian Streich's team won 5:0 (4:0) against Olympiakos Piraeus on Thursday and can no longer be displaced from one of the top two places in preliminary round Group A. Attacker Michael Gregoritsch scored a hat-trick (3rd, 8th, 36th minute), Kiliann Sildillia also scored in the first half (42nd). Ritsu Doan scored in the second half (77').
Freiburg's final match on December 14 at English first division side West Ham United will see them aim for group victory and a direct place in the round of 16.
