Handball titans THW Kiel bagged their final home match of the present Bundesliga edition. Tip-off against SC DHfK Leipzig witnessed Kiel's triumph with a commendable score of 37:28 (15:16). Niclas Ekberg, a key player on the hosting 4th-ranked team, hit the bull's eye 11 times in front of an exhilarated audience of 20,201. For the opponents, Franz Semper managed to score seven times.

The visiting squad posed a significant challenge for the Kiel team all through the match. Till the 28th minute, it was Leipzig leading with a score of 15:13. Following the intermission, the tide proceeded to shift. Steffen Weinhold's 28:23 (50th) make drove for the triumphant turn for Kiel. Leipzig's resistance lost its edge, and Kiel celebrated a decisive victory.

The imminent departure of Sven Ehrig, Eduardo Gurbindo, Ekberg, and Weinhold was emphasized. These players, together with the youth players Magnus Bierfreund, Jarnes Faust, and Luca Schwormstede, will leave the THW. Next, on Sunday (4:30 pm/Dyn), the "Zebras" will tackle the season finale at MT Melsungen.
