- Saxony's motorways on holiday: reduced parking times

Motorists spent significantly less time in traffic jams on Saxony's highways during the summer holidays compared to the previous year. According to the published traffic balance sheet of ADAC Sachsen, holidaymakers and travelers spent around 100 hours less stuck on the highway. However, the number of traffic jams increased by nearly 500 compared to the summer holidays of 2023. Nevertheless, the duration of traffic jams decreased by nearly 600 kilometers.

Particularly during the holiday season, patience was required on the heavily traveled A4 East-West tangent, which was disrupted by numerous construction sites in 2024. A total of 1,267 traffic jams with a combined length of 1,366 kilometers were recorded here.

Despite the increase in traffic jams on the A4 East-West tangent during the summer holidays, motorists still experienced a reduction in time spent in traffic jams compared to the previous year. This can be attributed to improved traffic management and fewer delays due to fewer vehicles on the road during the summer holidays.
