- Saxony's marijuana farming approvals: collections of petition submissions

In Saxony, very few applications for the permission to form a marijuana growing cooperative have been handed in till now. A representative from the responsible Saxon State Authority (LSA) disclosed this information upon request. The LSA has neither issued permits nor denied applications thus far. They predict that the first permits will be issued by late September or early October. Cultivation cannot commence until the permit is granted. The applications received came from various places including Dresden, Chemnitz, two from Leipzig, Görlitz, and Zittau.

Individuals or groups can submit applications for marijuana growing cooperatives since July 1st. These cooperatives, known as 'social clubs', can apply for permits that allow up to 500 adult members to cultivate marijuana for personal use or share it amongst themselves.

Despite the opportunity for individuals or groups to submit applications for marijuana growing cooperatives since July 1st, the number of applications in Saxony remains relatively low. The limited number of applications for Cannabis cultivation cooperatives in Saxony suggests that public interest in forming such clubs is not yet widespread.
