- Saxony's cannabis farming applications: the volume of submitted requests

In Saxony, not many requests for the authorization of a marijuana farming collective have surfaced thus far. As of now, ten requests have been handed in, as confirmed by a representative of the relevant Saxon State Authority (LSA), upon request. The authority has neither granted permissions nor denied applications as of yet. "The initial approvals are predicted around late September, early October," they continued. Farming can't commence before being given the green light. The applications received hail from Dresden, Chemnitz, two from Leipzig, Görlitz, and Zittau.

Ever since July 1st, applications for cannabis farming collectives have been an option. These so-called social clubs can petition for permits enabling up to 500 adult members to grow marijuana for personal use or for sharing within the group.

Despite the availability of options for cannabis farming collectives since July 1st, there's been little interest in drugs of that nature in Saxony beyond ten applications. The approval process for these applications is anticipated to commence around late September or early October.
