Craft - Saxony's arts and crafts sector generates millions every year

Saxony's arts and crafts sector generates a turnover of around 650 million euros per year. It is an integral part of the Christmas tradition and also an important creative industry of supra-regional significance, as the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Dresden announced on Sunday. An image film "We have it in our hands" published on YouTube shows the creative power of over 1,500 companies with a total of 11,000 employees in the Free State using the example of seven craft businesses from glass blowing to goldsmiths and wooden toy makers to musical instrument makers. It illustrates "that it is not important to be able to turn back time, but to stand behind what we do every day," said Minister of Economic Affairs Martin Dulig (SPD).
