Study - Saxony wants to attract students from Mongolia
Saxony will attract young people from Mongolia and will provide them with a contact point in the country from now on. A scientific liaison office will be opened in the Mongolian capital Ulan Bator. It is located on the campus of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, as announced by the Saxon Ministry of Science.
The "Saxon Science Liaison Office Mongolia" is intended for young women and men who want to study at a Saxon university and subsequently work in the Free State. A particular focus is on natural sciences and engineering education. In addition, the office is intended to promote further cooperation between Saxon and Mongolian universities.
The liaison office works on behalf of the Saxon Ministry of Science and the Conference of Rectors in Saxony, under the leadership of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. "It is the third scientific liaison office that we are able to inaugurate after the opening in Taiwan and Uzbekistan," explained State Secretary Andreas Handschuh.
The office is considered a milestone in cooperation with Mongolia. "The growing partnership at eye level helps both sides. We are able to organize a first-class academic education for many young Mongolians in Saxony through the Saxon universities, and at the same time we are actively doing something for the Saxon economy, which urgently needs well-qualified specialists, especially in the small and medium-sized enterprises."
