Saxony enters into cooperation on cyber security
Saxony wants to work more closely with the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) on cyber defense. This is provided for in a cooperation agreement that was signed on Tuesday by BSI President Claudia Plattner and the Commissioner for Information Technology (CIO) in Saxony, Thomas Popp, as announced by the State Chancellery.
"With the cooperation agreement, the Free State of Saxony is putting the topic of cyber security more prominently on the agenda," said Plattner according to the press release. The agreement contributes to increasing cyber resilience in Germany.
According to the information provided, the cooperation covers eight fields of action. "Both partners will work together more intensively on cyber defense, support each other in the event of IT security incidents and work together to educate citizens more about cyber and information security, for example with awareness-raising lectures and events," it said.
The cooperation also includes addressing potential cyber threats related to internal security, as mentioned in the agreement. This collaboration could potentially involve strengthening cyber security measures to prevent crimes committed over the Internet.
