Federal states - Saxony-Anhalt transfers around 15 hectares to Brandenburg
Saxony-Anhalt has transferred around 15 hectares of land to Brandenburg. The two states agreed to transfer the areas of five historically grown enclaves and one road. However, residents are not affected by the transfer of territory. The exact location of the areas along the border was not initially disclosed on Tuesday. The road in question, for example, meanders between the federal states, which makes the responsibilities there difficult, it was said.
Saxony-Anhalt Minister-President Reiner Haseloff (CDU) said: "We have moved the state borders today." The "Christmas present" was intended to clean up certain areas. "All the uncertainties and geographic trouble spots along the state border" have now been clearly allocated - subject to the approval of the state parliament.
