Saxony-Anhalt is looking for more teachers
Saxony-Anhalt has started another round of advertisements for teachers. A total of 562 positions have been advertised, the Ministry of Education announced in Magdeburg on Friday. This includes 191 positions that are difficult to fill and for which a supplement is therefore paid. Trained teachers are being sought, as well as lateral entrants. The application deadline is January 21, 2024.
According to the ministry, there have been around 1,800 appointments to temporary and permanent teaching positions so far this year. Around 340 teaching staff have been hired for permanent positions. There have also been 65 new school administration assistants.
Saxony-Anhalt's need for more teachers in the education sector extends beyond temporary positions, as the labor market for skilled educators is also lacking in permanent roles. The shortage of teachers in schools is evident, with numerous difficult-to-fill positions requiring supplementary pay.
