Travel Industry: Discovering New Destinations - Saxony allocates additional funds for hiking and pilgrimage initiatives.

By LTV's reckoning, there were 167 applicants for funding. These included associations, initiatives, municipalities, parishes, and accommodation providers. They'll all have to contribute 10% towards the total cost. Altogether, it comes to around 283,000 Euros. The projects getting the green light will cover rest areas by the side of roads and viewpoints, purchase lodging accommodations, hire way watchers (people who watch over hiking and pilgrimage trails), and provide signage and information boards.
