Hollywood - Sandra Hüller nominated for Critics Choice Awards

Sandra Hüller (45) has received another nomination for Best Actress in the USA for her role in the legal thriller "Anatomy of a Case". The actress, who comes from Suhl and lives in Leipzig, was already nominated for a Golden Globe on Monday and will also be in the running for a Critics Choice Award in mid-January.

Joining Hüller in the "Best Actress" category are Lily Gladstone ("Killers of the Flower Moon"), Greta Lee ("Past Lives"), Carey Mulligan ("Maestro"), Margot Robbie ("Barbie") and Emma Stone ("Poor Things").

The drama"Anatomy of a Case" by French director Justine Triet is also one of the six candidates in the "Best Non-English Language Film" category. British director Jonathan Glazer's "The Zone of Interest", starring Hüller as the wife of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss (Christian Friedel), is also nominated in this category. German director Wim Wenders is also represented in this category with his film "Perfect Days", which was shot in Tokyo in Japanese.

The favorite at the Critics Choice Awards is "Barbie" with 18 nominations, followed by "Oppenheimer" and "Poor Things" with 13 chances to win each.

With over 500 members, the Critics Choice Association is the largest critics' organization for film and television in the USA and Canada. The awards gala of the 29th Critics Choice Awards is scheduled to take place on January 14 in Los Angeles.

Out of the 29th Critics Choice Awards nominations, 18 are for "Barbie," making it the favorite to win. "Oppenheimer" and "Poor Things" follow closely behind with 13 nominations each.

This year, Germany is one of the 88 countries participating in the race for foreign Oscars, a competitive and prestigious event in the global film community.
