German top-tier football league - Sahin could be the next BVB coach, inquires Heldt.

Former soccer star Horst Heldt expresses concern over Nuri Sahin possibly becoming the new coach of Borussia Dortmund. "We're talking about changes, but if the changes are the same, then they're not changes," says the manager of 1. FC Union Berlin during the Sky-show "Triple - the Schützflitz football talk."

Sahin may have a different personality from Edin Terzic. However, Heldt remarks that he is also "from our own stable" and has a "BVB past." He suggests that choosing someone with a different background from BVB could have been a better choice.

Terzic unexpectedly asked for the early termination of his contract, which was set to expire in 2025, on Thursday. Per "Bild," Sahin will likely replace him. There are only minor details to be resolved between the 35-year-old and the leadership team.

This season, the longtime Dortmund player Sahin partnered with ex-BVB pro Sven Bender (35) as Terzic's assistant. "You're more of a buddy than a head coach," Heldt says. He also notes that Terzic followed a similar pattern to that of club legend Sahin: "It still feels the same; just the names have been switched. I don't know if that's right, but that's how it seems for now."

Veteran goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller, who won the German championship with Sahin in 2011, shares his surprise at Terzic's departure. "But I believe it's the time when we have to go our own ways," says the 43-year-old. "There was some unsettlement within the squad. We were not unified in our tactics. One or two players could no longer adhere to the philosophy."
