Saarland government wants to make authorities more digital

Just under a year ago, the Saarland state government announced a reform process to create a "modern state". Now it is presenting the first results.

Modernize administration - Saarland government wants to make authorities more digital

The administration in Saarland is intended to be "more accessible, digital, and understandable" for citizens. This was announced by Minister-President Anke Rehlinger in Saarbrücken, who presented the first results of the "Modernization Exam" of the SPD-led government. Companies are also expected to benefit from digitalization and bureaucracy reduction. The plan is to streamline processes by centralizing tasks and better utilizing resources.

In a nine-page document under the slogan "Making it Easier," the government lists concrete examples of the planned modernization process. They range from the introduction of online appointment scheduling at financial offices to the complete digitalization of all applications and procedures at the Central Foreigners Authority, as well as simplifications in the integration assistance, an expansion of the Online Watch, and easements in the procurement process.
