Visitor record - Saarbrücken records record tourism year 2023
Saarbrücken is heading for a record number of visitors this year. In the first nine months, around 16 percent more people stayed overnight in the city than in the previous record year of 2019, as the city announced on Friday. From January to September, 484,000 overnight stays were recorded. September was a monthly record with over 64,000 overnight stays, an increase of almost 22 percent compared to September in the last pre-corona year 2019.
The city attributes the increase to various measures to improve the quality of stay in the city. "Saarbrücken is a real magnet for visitors, more and more guests are discovering Saarbrücken as a lively city at the interface between Germany and France," said Lord Mayor Uwe Conradt (CDU).
