Third-tier football club 1. FC Saarbrücken suffered their first home defeat of the season. In their second game, they lost 0:1 to SV Sandhausen in front of 12,749 spectators. Dominic Baumann scored the winning goal for the visitors in the 64th minute. Despite their opening win against 1860 Munich, FCS remain on three points.

In the first half, both teams showed initiative and created chances, but failed to capitalize. Sandhausen also had a goal disallowed just before halftime due to an alleged offside position. After the break, Baumann headed home a powerful shot to put SVS ahead.

FCS remained relatively quiet after conceding the goal, but pressed for an equalizer in added time. Striker Kai Brünker missed their best chance with a header.

Despite the goal disallowed in the first half, SV Sandhausen managed to score through Dominc Baumann in the second half, contributing to FCS's third-tier league struggle with only three points from their FCS matches. In their quest for an equalizer, FCS's striker Kai Brünker missed a promising opportunity in added time.
