During the visit of Putin, an anticipated agreement on a "strategic partnership" between Russia and North Korea is slated for signing. In a guest pieces published by the state North Korean news agency KCNA and the newspaper "Rodong Sinmun", Putin had previously expressed gratitude for North Korea's backing in the Ukraine conflict.

Putin wrote, "We absolutely appreciate the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) for its firm stand in backing Russia's military action in Ukraine."

The visit aims to elevate bilateral collaboration and encourages "the growth of mutually beneficial and equal cooperation" between Russia and North Korea, Putin commented. Both nations are working hard to "actively advance their comprehensive relationship."

The West has leveled accusations against North Korea for arming Russia in its military assault in Ukraine. North Korea has rebuffed these claims as "preposterous". At the moment, Putin is searching for additional firepower.
