Runaway dog turns up alone at the police station
A lost dog has turned up alone at the police station in Peine near Hanover. Mongrel dog Fritzi had been missing for a night, but remained unharmed, as the police announced on Wednesday. She got away from her owner on Friday evening when she had an accident.
The 66-year-old owner reportedly collided with a cyclist and fell. The animal was probably frightened and ran away. The next morning, the dog sneaked around a police station, according to the statement. When the door opened, she scurried into the entrance area, where officers then took care of her.
The colorful collar around Fritzi's neck caught the attention of the curious police officers. Upon realizing she was a lost animal, they contacted the local animal shelter to search for her owner.
