Handball - Rostock's handball players play Potsdam in the DHB Cup
Handball-Third league team HC Empor Rostock faces Bundesliga promoter 1. VfL Potsdam in the first round of the DHB-Cup. This was determined in the draw on Thursday in Düsseldorf. Bundesliga teams THW Kiel, HSV Hamburg and TSV Hannover-Burgdorf enter in the second round. SG Flensburg-Handewitt, who finished third in the previous Final Four, starts in the quarterfinals.
In total, six teams from Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Schleswig-Holstein participate in the first round. Second league teams VfL Lübeck-Schwartau and HSG Nordhorn-Lingen travel to Eintracht Hildesheim and MTV Braunschweig. The two third league representatives missed the promotion to the 2nd league in the final games of the promotion round. Wilhelmshavener HV (3. League) receives the tradition-rich club TuS N-Lübbecke as a guest.
The first round is played on August 24 and 25. The second round follows from October 1 to 3, the quarterfinals on November 13 and 14. The Final Four is then scheduled for April 12 and 13, 2025 in Cologne.
