Rostock Seawolves suffer next defeat in Chemnitz

The Rostock Seawolves were unable to end Niners Chemnitz's run of success in the German Basketball League and remain without a win on the road. The 75:85 (34:42) defeat on Friday evening at their league rivals, who have now won seven in a row, was the Mecklenburg club's fourth away defeat of the season. Derrick Alston was the Seawolves' top scorer with 26 points.

The team of Head Coach Christian Held had clearly fallen behind early on, but recovered and even took the lead itself at times in the first quarter. The Hanseatic club completely lost the thread for a few minutes midway through the second period. After Chevez Goodwin scored a free throw to make it 25:27, Chemnitz produced a 15:0 run. Only then did the Seawolves find their game again and fought their way back to within eight points of the Niners by the break.

However, the home side remained the more effective team in the third quarter and extended its lead by a further four points. Although the Seawolves decided the final period narrowly in their favor, they were no longer able to prevent defeat.

Despite their efforts, the Rostock Seawolves failed to secure a win in the Bundesliga, with their basketball match against Niners Chemnitz ending in a 75-85 loss. This setback continues the seasiders' struggle, as they have yet to win a game away from home in the Bundesliga, with their Bundesliga match against Rostock Seawolves set to take place next.
