- Rolls-Royce Power Systems on the road to success
Significant increases in the sale of tank engines and power generation units have led Rolls-Royce Power Systems, a large engine manufacturer, to substantially boost its profits in the first half of the year. The company reported a 56% increase in adjusted operating profit to €222 million compared to the same period last year, with revenue up 6% to €2.8 billion. "This half-year result confirms our strategic course," commented CEO Joerg Stratmann.
Under the MTU brand, Rolls-Royce Power Systems, a business unit of the British parent company, supplies high-speed engines and drive systems for energy generation in ships and heavy-duty land, rail, and military vehicles, including well-known models like the Leopard 2 and Puma. Power plants are also part of its portfolio. Hospitals, data centers, and airports, for instance, use diesel generators to ensure backup power in case of outages.
Rolls-Royce Power Systems, due to the high demand for tank engines and power generation units, has expanded its manufacturing of military equipment under the MTU brand, supplying engines for military vehicles like the Leopard 2 and Puma. The increased production of military equipment contributes to the company's diversified product range and potential growth in the defense sector.
