Crime - Robbery: Armed man asks woman to come with him

A previously unknown man is said to have threatened a woman in Cologne with a gun and tried to force her to come with him. According to her, he choked the woman from behind and hit her with the weapon, but she was able to escape, police said on Wednesday. Witnesses to the crime are now being sought.

According to the woman's statement, she was walking in the Lindenthal district on Wednesday morning when the stranger choked her, threatened her with a gun and asked her to come with him. In the ensuing scuffle, both fell to the ground, the police said. The man hit her on the head with the pistol. She was able to free herself from the grip and fled. The woman had to be treated as an outpatient in a clinic.
