Health - RKI offers a new online tool on vaccination events in Germany
A new online tool from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) now provides interested parties with a clear overview of the vaccination situation in Germany. The service, called VacMap, has been available since December and provides an overview of the spread of routine vaccinations.
"VacMap currently visualizes vaccination rates for the infant and childhood vaccinations recommended by the Standing Committee on Vaccination with data from the last routine report," the RKI announced in a report. The quotas for adolescents and adults are to follow soon and the tool will be supplemented with information on other standard vaccinations.
Using filter settings, VacMap makes it possible to visualize and compare the data by year of birth, age group, vaccination status and region in the form of graphs and maps.
The RKI has been evaluating billing data from the associations of statutory health insurance physicians for almost 20 years to record vaccination rates in the population. According to the authority, the evaluations are based on nationwide billing data from statutory health insurance physicians, which are transmitted to the RKI by the associations of statutory health insurance physicians.
