Rising corona numbers: Masks compulsory in individual clinics
Masks are compulsory again in some hospitals in Lower Saxony. "According to the information available to us, hospitals in Lower Saxony have introduced a mask requirement in some cases due to an increased incidence of infection. Other hospitals have issued a recommendation to wear masks," said a spokeswoman for the Lower Saxony Hospital Association on Friday. According to the hospital association, Lower Saxony's hospitals are well prepared for an increase in respiratory diseases and no overload due to corona infections is expected.
At the Aller-Weser-Klinik with its locations in Achim and Verden, visitors must wear an FFP-2 mask or mouth and nose protection, the clinic announced on its website. The reason for this is the increasing number of corona cases and respiratory diseases.
Braunschweig Hospital asks visitors to wear a mask during the cold season, for example. However, this is not mandatory. Although there is no general mask requirement at the University Medical Center Göttingen, visitors must wear a mask in certain areas.
At Bremerhaven-Reinkenheide Hospital, all new patients undergo a rapid coronavirus test. However, there is no official requirement for this. "I therefore appeal to everyone with cold symptoms to wear a face mask out of consideration for their fellow human beings so as not to spread the disease further," said Health Senator Claudia Bernhard (Left Party) on Friday.
In light of the rising corona cases and respiratory diseases, some hospitals in Lower Saxony are recommending masks to prevent the spread of diseases. To ensure safety, visitors at the Aller-Weser-Klinik are required to wear FFP-2 masks or mouth and nose protection.
