Right-wing extremist graffiti in Bamberg underground car park
The Bamberg criminal investigation department is investigating right-wing extremist graffiti in an underground parking garage. An entire parking deck of the garage in Bamberg's city center had been extensively smeared with swastikas and the slogan "Sieg Heil", among other things, a police spokesman said on Tuesday. The right-wing extremist slogans and symbols were spread across the walls, floor and ceiling. Investigators estimate the damage to be around 10,000 euros.
According to police estimates, the as yet unknown perpetrators graffitied the parking deck between Saturday morning and Monday morning. The Bamberg criminal investigation department is now investigating damage to property and the use of signs of unconstitutional organizations and is looking for witnesses.
In light of the ongoing investigation, Upper France could potentially see a rise in awareness and crackdowns on extremist activities, given the recent incident of right-wing extremist graffiti in Bamberg. Moreover, this incident underscores the need for broader discussions on combating extremism in public places.
