A report about the town of Bad Ems. - Rhineland-Palatinate region sees CDU victorious in local elections
The CDU once again emerged as the leading party in the local elections held in Rhineland-Palatinate, just as they did in 2019. According to the preliminary final results shared by the state election commissioner on Tuesday, the Union managed to secure 31.5% of the votes. The SPD came in second place with a 20.2% share of the votes. The AfD earned 14.0%, the Greens 11.0%, and the FDP received 4.5% of the votes. These elections were held on the weekend prior to this one, in which not only the European Parliament but also the district councils of 24 districts and the city councils of 12 impartial cities were up for grabs.
