Rhine: Have guidelines for negotiations
According to CDU state leader and Minister President Boris Rhein (CDU), Hesse is starting "a new chapter" with the announced start of coalition negotiations with the SPD. It is about negotiating a new Christian-social coalition, said Rhein on Friday in Wiesbaden. "And there are guidelines. These guidelines are very clear: we are working for a strong state, we are working for a stable economy and we are working for a gentle renewal. In other words: for modernization with the people and not against the people."
Until now, the CDU and the Greens have governed together in Hesse for around a decade. The new 21st Hessian state parliament will be constituted on January 18, 2024.
The anticipated coalition negotiations between the CDU and SPD in Hesse for a new Christian-social government will likely shape the upcoming elections for the 21st Hesse parliament. The newly elected parliamentarians must adhere to the negotiations' guidelines, focusing on strengthening the state, securing a stable economy, and fostering a gentle modernization, ensuring progress with the people rather than against them.
