Rheinmetall expects sales to almost double by 2026
The armaments group Rheinmetall is aiming for even stronger growth in the coming years in view of rising defense budgets in Western countries.
The DAX-listed company announced on Tuesday at an investor event in Unterlüß, Lower Saxony, that sales are set to increase to between 13 and 14 billion euros by 2026. This corresponds to average annual growth of around 20 percent compared to the current planning for this year, which assumes revenue of 7.4 to 7.6 billion euros.
Most recently, Rheinmetall's old medium-term planning from 2022 to 2025 predicted an annual increase of 17 percent. Analysts previously expected sales of just under 12 billion euros in 2026.
The Düsseldorf-based company's armaments division, which is expected to contribute around 11 billion of sales in three years, will continue to be the main source of returns. This includes Rheinmetall's business with ammunition and weapons, vehicle systems and electronics.
Rheinmetall's growth in the defense industry relies heavily on its armaments division, which focuses on producing ammunition, weapons, vehicle systems, and electronics. The rising defense budgets in Western countries have triggered the company's ambition to increase its sales to between 13 and 14 billion euros by 2026, significantly contributing to the defense industry's global expansion of weapons technology.
