Revolver left in customer restroom

A revolver with five rounds of ammunition left in the customer toilet of a petrol station in Stralsund has led to a feverish police investigation and the deployment of the SEK special task force. Last Tuesday, a 59-year-old security guard had apparently forgotten his gun loaded with five cartridges in the customer toilet, as the police reported on Monday. He reported the loss three hours later.

According to the findings, a 40-year-old man used the toilet shortly after the 59-year-old and disappeared with the weapon. As a result of extensive investigations by the Stralsund criminal investigation department, the man was identified. On Friday evening, he was searched with the help of the SEK and the revolver was found. However, two cartridges were missing. The man explained that he had fired the two shots on the beach.

The police are reportedly investigating both men for violating the Weapons Act and the 40-year-old for embezzlement.

The discarded revolver led to potential charges of weapon possession in violation of the Weapons Act for both individuals. Despite finding the revolver, two missing cartridges indicated that the 40-year-old may have also used the weapons for unlawful purposes.
