EU - Result of the European elections without significant changes
Two and a half weeks after the European election, the final result for Bavaria is now clear. In terms of percentage points for the main parties, there were no deviations compared to the preliminary numbers from election night. This is stated in a communication that Landeswahlleiter Thomas Goßl released after a session of the Landeswahlausschusses in Munich on Wednesday.
Accordingly, the CSU has emerged as the strongest force from the European election in Bavaria with 39.7% of the votes. The Christians were unable to maintain their result from five years ago (40.7%), but they exceeded their result from the 2023 state election (37.0%).
The AfD was the second strongest force in Bavaria with 12.6%. This was followed by the Greens (11.8%), the SPD (8.9%), the Free Voters (6.8%), the FDP (3.9%), and the Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (3.8%).
The voter turnout was 65.4%. And almost every second person voted by mail: The share of mail-in voters was 53.7%.
