Emergency timetable - Restrictions on long-distance and regional services due to strike
The warning strike by the German Train Drivers' Union (GDL), which began on Thursday evening, led to severe restrictions on long-distance and regional services in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein on Friday morning, as well as on S-Bahn services in Hamburg. Despite everything, the emergency timetables have started well and few travelers can be found at the stations, a Deutsche Bahn spokeswoman told the Deutsche Presse-Agentur on Friday morning.
According to this, S-Bahn trains are running every 20 to 30 minutes and major delays are to be expected on regional services. All connections in the emergency timetable are available in the information media on bahn.de and in the DB Navigator app. In addition, Deutsche Bahn has once again set up a strike hotline. Affected passengers can call 08000-996633 to find out about their connections.
The German Train Drivers' Union (GDL) had called for the 24-hour warning strike at Deutsche Bahn and other companies such as AKN on Wednesday. The passenger transport strike was due to begin on Thursday evening at 22:00 and last until Friday evening at 22:00.
