The district had already proclaimed a state of disaster. District Administrator Otto Lederer (CSU) explained, "This measure allows us to fulfill the demands of our late-arriving support systems and to expedite coordination between emergency forces, resulting in a more prompt response to the expected conditions."
Throughout the day, the water levels of the streams and rivers in the district continued to rise. Houses in Flintsbach required evacuation, while other cities may face the same scenario. Emergency units from the fire department and THW are en route with a massive response team.
