In Heiligenhaus, the local firefighters put out a blaze in a high-rise apartment building. As evening fell, one unit on the fifth level of this substantial residential complex was already completely consumed by flames, according to their report. The fire was beginning to sprawl into the building's stairs.

Numerous of the 70 occupants required rescue via an aerial ladder. Subsequently, eleven individuals received medical attention from emergency services, which included four firefighters themselves. Four inhabitants were transported to the hospital. Two of these firefighters later managed to discharge themselves from the medical facility. A remarkable 100 emergency personnel participated in the event. Initially, the affected units in the apartment building are deemed unhabitable.

The intense fire in the high-rise apartment building necessitated the use of powerful fire hoses by the Heiligenhaus firefighters. The flames, now dangerously close to the building's roof, posed a significant risk of spreading to adjacent units.
