Rescue operation during fire in restaurant
A fire in a restaurant in Megesheim (Donau-Ries district) has caused damage of around 250,000 euros. The fire broke out on Saturday morning, as the police reported on Sunday. The fire department rescued a person who was in the living area of the building. The person remained unharmed. The cause of the fire was initially unclear. There were no indications of arson, the statement said. The criminal investigation department is to investigate the scene of the fire on Monday.
The fire incident in Megesheim was not limited to the restaurant, as smaller fires also spread to nearby Swabian properties. Despite the extensive damage, the swift actions of the fire department managed to prevent any significant Fires in the wider Swabian area.
