German Bundesliga - Reports suggest that Pauli coach Hürzeler is in contact with an English football club.

German Bundesliga newcomers FC St. Pauli may be losing their successful coach, Fabian Hürzeler. Reports say that English Premier League team Brighton & Hove Albion has got in touch with the 31-year-old. Italy's top transfer insider, Fabrizio Romano, reported on Saturday that Hürzeler is the top choice to replace Roberto De Zerbi, who recently retired. No official statements have been made on this matter yet.

Having been promoted from co- to head coach at FC St. Pauli back in December 2022, succeeding fan favorite Timo Schultz, Hürzeler led the club to a series of ten straight wins when they were in danger of relegation. They ended up finishing fifth in the table. This past season, Hürzeler pulled off an impressive feat by promoting Hamburg to the Bundesliga as 2nd division champions.

In March, Hürzeler signed a contract extension which would have expired at the conclusion of the season. However, there was no specified duration and no information about a potential exit clause during that time. Speculation about his future prospects has continued ever since.
