Soccer - Reports: Guirassy moves from Stuttgart to BVB
Top-Stürmer Serhou Guirassy is reportedly leaving German Vice-Champion VfB Stuttgart and joining Bundesliga rival Borussia Dortmund. According to "Stuttgarter Nachrichten" and "Stuttgarter Zeitung" reports on a Wednesday, the 28-year-old is said to have activated his release clause. In final negotiations with potential new employers, the decision was then reportedly made in favor of BVB. If the deal does not collapse at the last minute, Guirassy is expected to sign a long-term contract in Dortmund.
According to media reports, AC Milan and both Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea were also interested in the Guinean selection player. The media report that the buyout clause is around 18-20 million Euros.
Borussia Dortmund's first offer was allegedly improved again, allowing them to secure the deal. Guirassy's salary is expected to significantly increase, with talk of a seven-figure signing bonus.
Guirassy scored 28 goals, contributing significantly to the fact that the Swabian football Bundesligist finished second behind Meister Bayer Leverkusen and will participate in the Champions League next season. In 2022, the then Stuttgart Sport Director Sven Mislintat, who now works for BVB again, reportedly brought the striker from Stade Rennes to Stuttgart. Guirassy's contract with VfB runs until June 30, 2026.
