Report: Union to present Raúl as coach on Sunday
The search for a new coach at 1. FC Union Berlin could be officially over this weekend. According to a report in "Kicker", the new coach of the Berlin Bundesliga club is to be presented this Sunday. According to the report, rumors are growing that the new coach will be Real Madrid legend Raúl (46). The former top striker, who knows the Bundesliga from his active time at FC Schalke 04 (2010 to 2012), currently coaches the U23s of the Spanish record champions. Union would be his first professional coaching position.
After more than five years in charge, Berlin recently parted ways with their previous head coach Urs Fischer. Interim coach Marco Grote and assistant Marie-Louise Eta were on the bench for the 1-1 draw against FC Augsburg on Saturday.
