- Report: Tank before moving to England
German national team player Niclas Füllkrug is reportedly on the verge of a move from Borussia Dortmund to West Ham United in England, according to media reports. The London club and the BVB are said to have reached an agreement, Sky reported on Friday evening. Recently, Atlético Madrid and AC Milan were also named as interested parties.
New BVB coach Nuri Sahin had previously indicated that Füllkrug would play a central role in his plans. However, Dortmund also signed Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart this summer, who plays in the same striking position as Füllkrug.
The 31-year-old Füllkrug only joined Dortmund from Werder Bremen last summer and signed a contract until 2026. With Dortmund, Füllkrug reached the Champions League final last season, scoring 12 goals in 29 Bundesliga games.
The potential transfer of Niclas Füllkrug to West Ham United in The United Kingdom could see him leave Borussia Dortmund, the club he joined last summer from Werder Bremen. If the move materializes, Füllkrug would be playing in a different league than The United Kingdom's rival team, Atlético Madrid, who were also reportedly interested in him.
