The bosses of RB Leipzig cannot publicly guarantee the presence of Xavi Simons for another season of the 21-year-old Dutchman at the Saxon football Bundesligist. "I cannot, as of today, promise that Xavi will return to training in Leipzig after the US tour," RB business manager Johann Plenge told "Kicker" in an interview.

The 39-year-old added: "But I can promise that we will do everything we can to make sure he stays in Leipzig. We have very good arguments for Xavi and against Paris St. Germain. These arguments count – and not, as is often and loudly announced publicly."

Simons is reportedly interested in Bayern

According to media reports, FC Bayern also have an interest in Simons. However, the Dutchman reportedly rejected an interview with the pay-TV broadcaster Sky. "Dani enjoys high regard and is our player – and that's still the case even if we start training again in the US and nothing has happened by then. He played a very strong EM, so it was clear that other top clubs were knocking," Plenge said. "Transfers belong to business and are a revenue source. But they are just one of many. We will not sell any player below value."

The deadline for an exit clause allegedly worth 60 million Euro has expired. Barcelona and Manchester City are reportedly interested in Olmo. He joined Leipzig from Zagreb in January 2020, his contract with RB is still valid until the end of June 2027.
